CigarScore: 4. The Espinosa Laranja Reserva Toro is a good cigar, but I'm not sure it's anything super special. I wish the flavors had been bolder in one direction or the other, either more creamy or more citrusy. That would've been special and memorable. Instead, what we end up with is a cigar that sticks to the middle of the flavor road which makes the Laranaja struggle to stand out.
According to Cigar Aficionado (April 11, 2019): “Five years ago, Erik Espinosa debuted Laranja Reserva, a brand named for the unique, orange-hued Brazilian wrapper that covers the cigar. (“Laranja” is the Portuguese word for orange.) 2018 marked the start of an ingenious line extension by Espinosa Premium Cigars. The Laranja Reserva Escuro utilizes the same bevy of bold and refined Nicaraguan long-fillers and binder of the original Laranja Reserva, but is wrapped in a beautifully dark Brazillian Mata Fina wrapper. Laranja is Portuguese for “orange” Why orange? Because the wrapper has an orange hue.
